It’s been a whirlwind these past three weeks! Gwennie’s had a revolving door of electricians, plumbers, flooring experts, kitchen cabinet designers, window experts, and other contractors taking a peek at her 107 year history.
I have found that I’m loving the independent businesses that are finding a home in the Shelby Park neighborhood. In between appointments, I’ve loved stopping in Scarlet’s Bakery and enjoying a treat while reviewing options.

After completing updating and replacing the electrical panel, our next order of business was raising the house. This was scary! We worked with a contractor to brace the load bearing walls….

And then slowly creaked and cranked ‘ol Gwennie up right in the center of the house by almost 2 inches. Once she was comfy in her new position, we completely replaced the main beam holding all her weight.

I had a vision for the big, blank square of a kitchen that I had scratched out on a piece of paper for my friend Renae with Century Living. Of course, it doesn’t do it justice without seeing the “before”.

It was completely amazing to get back her rendering that brought my vision to life!!
Our last order of business these past few weeks was taking out the area around the stairwell between the dining room and kitchen to really open the space up. Work has just started on that, but it is looking very promising.

With Oaks and Derby right around the corner, we are working hard to get the windows, doors, and siding done next. Stay tuned!
Cheers,
Todd and Jenny
