How best to describe what has unfolded since my last post?

You know you are growing when you typically keep your cool, and you feel like you are being tested over and over again!
We are about ready to pass a major milestone, but it has certainly been a process to get there. For the past month, when loved ones ask, “How’s Gwennie?”, my response has been,

“It looks like she’s in the middle of open heart surgery.”

I’m fairly certain (fingers crossed) that all her secrets have been uncovered.  Gwennie now boasts new plumbing, new HVAC, new siding, new windows, and new electric.

It is unbelievable what you find behind the walls of a home. We found a secret, tiny window that had been enclosed with plaster inside, and siding outside, that we lovingly have named the Malkovich Window. While we were cleaning that out, we discovered what had to be at least 3 generations of birds’ nests tucked neatly into the hidden Malkovich window area.

It has been a roller coaster ride trying to create a network of contractors that follow through. It’s been a blessing in disguise to have such a lengthy demo period to continue to take out your frustrations on the work that we could control.

We should be wrapping up plaster and drywall in the next week, and I can’t wait to see how Gwennie takes shape when we come at her full force with paint, trim, tile and finishings!
